Hot wire.

Im looking for a power wire that will only be hot when the key is in position two (or the normal running position), and will be open when its in any other key position. Im doing an electro-vacuum conversion since my ignition wont divert vacuum to the engine to shut it down.

Secondly im looking to somehow turn my aux fan on to run when the engine gets too hot. any ideas?

Try one that runs the radio or the cigar lighter. Have it close a relay when energized.

On the aux fan, incorporate another temp switch that closes at a given temp. Since the temp switch on the drier closes to ground, make the new temp switch do the same thing. Nothing wrong with a double ground.

Allright, ill try the cig lighter that sounds good. Do you think i will need a relay for a .5 amp vacuum solenoid?

Do you think that the temp switch that is on the receiver dryer will work? i may beable to tap into the thermostat housing to incorporate it but im not sure what temp it kicks it on.

Don't you want the wire to be live also when the engine is cranking?

Why don't you spend 10 minutes and $5 it takes to fix the shutoff valve in the ignition switch rather than rig up some sort of goofy electrical solution?

no Ac at all? then you can get a snap disc(cheap) or an adjustable thermostat from somewhere like summit racing or even pepboys, etc.

no need to worry about the rest of the system, you could run a separate relay, fuse, etc. right to the fan. mount snapdisc on rad, done.

Never heard of a snap disc, ill look it up. Yeah i removed all of the ac components since its way too troublesome and not cost efficient to fix the existing half-A$$ed system that crystler retrofitted in.

Bwhahaha its completed! First off i was tired of the entire situation with the origonal design this was my second ignition switch that went out. Soo...

I took the vacuum solenoid that allows vacuum to the recirculation actuator out from the inside of the car and mounted it in the engine bay, what i found out was that it needed power to vent the vacuum to air. So i attached the green wire (positive) To the red/green wire in the fuse box and the black wire (ground) to the body of the car. The red/green wire is for acc's and gives power in acc,run and start so it was perfect. And as soon as i turn it off it shuts the car off (as you can see in the video.)

Nice job!

What VSV is that? I mean where is it in a 123? Are you sure the supply line is sealed when the engine's running? It isn't continuously drawing air?

I removed it from right infront of the expansion valve you cant miss it if you take off the kick panel on the pass side. It doesnt seem to be drawing any air into the shutoff valves line since it vents that line to air and seals the other one. I took a good hour long drive the solenoid got warm to the touch, but still functioned perfectly fine.

I noticed that since there is less tubing the engine shuts down more quicky, and where as before sometimes the ignition switch wouldnt release the vacuum, this one releases it instantly providing a trouble free start every time
