Should I be concerned about this? IP parts missing
1 Attachment(s)
So I have noticed that there are a few parts missing from my IP, although the car runs fine so I don't know if I should be concerned about it. Can you guys take a look?
(Thanks to gsxr for stock photo) Would missing those two washer pieces allow air into the fuel lines at all? Sometimes it takes more cranks than I find necessary to get started, although I don't think it is anything out of the ordinary. There is not any fuel leaking out, either. Sorry, the text is blurry. On the left side I am just missing the screw, and on the right I am missing both of the connected washer-type pieces. |
No,
those parts are just locking-rings for the del.valves. Unusual to see them 'missing' from a pump...Guess it must have been stripped sometime.... Not hard parts to replace, You just need to remove the HP lines, and fix them in place.... |
missing these parts themselves is not what is causing the hard starting, but the delivery valve holder (what those lock rings hold) could loosen over time, especially if you remove the hard lines, they will tend to rotate. A loose delivery valve holder could certainly cause hard starting. Is there any leaking present?

No, there is not any leaking coming from there; at least, none that is noticeable. I suppose it could be possible that there would be a small leak, but I have never noticed any standing fuel. I'll take a look later today and see if anything needs to be tightened.

Ok, I was wrong. After a close inspection, there is a little bit of leaking coming from the two that are missing the locks. Where would I find these parts, the dealership? I haven't seen any online
