Motor in dash
Hi,
When its cold a motor that is located somewhere around the glove compartment make a schreeching (sp) sound. Its not the heater motor because when I change the heater motor speed the other motor stays the same speed. What is the name of this motor? I would have tried to search for a solution, but I need to know the name. Does this sound like a replacement, or, will just a little bit of oil solve the sound? Thanks. sampler motor? There is a small blower that draws in cabin air for the climate controls to sample. Mine screeched then quit. On the W126 it is located on the back of the passenger side knee bolster...

The little fan pulls air from the cabin through the sensor and out under the dash.

not sure where its located on the early 190d's, but it could be your aux heater pump.
