Viton Diesel Return Fuel Line Problem

Okay, so I just replaced my old braided diesel return lines with some new "state of the art" viton fuel return lines. I thought that I was VERY careful when I cut it because this stuff splits like crazy if it's not cut properly. Anyway as you probably have guessed by now, the fuel lines split right where I attached them to the fuel injectors. I was thinking I could just put a little bit of hose repair tape around the end of the hose to kind of act like a "hose clamp" of sorts.

Do you all have any tricks which could help prevent this, or should I just buy some of the old fashioned braided fuel line which seems to work quite well and isn't as finicky as the viton.

I cut mine with scissors and they have been fine for over a year. I didn’t have any trouble with them splitting.

I use the viton lines, and right after I installed them I noticed the engine was soaked. Then I turned on the engine as I inspected the lines and saw biodiesel squirting out of a hole in one of them. I used hose repair tape, but in short time the biodiesel melted the adhesive and the tape fell off. I ordered more viton and I haven't had any problems since.

sometime teflon lines come up on Ebay cheap. teflon tubing is great stuff but it can get cut pretty easy.

When you ordered more Viton hose did you buy from the same source that supplied the hose that got holes or from a different source?
