Why can't you just get another threaded insert from a auto dismantlers at least and put the new one in there? My Benz fuel injector insert is a threaded insert holding the pre-chamber in place.

I got a computer and am having trouble locating the parts needed to do the job... I used the site's site's and couldn't find anything under them.
I also sent a PM inquiring about the tool, thanks again guys.. I had forgotten about the tool rental program this site has. |

If I got the chassis correct as a 201.126 with the 602.911 engine the prechamber screw collar is part# A6010170203
It's listed on this site here- http://catalog.peachparts.com/item.wws?sku=6010170203&itempk=39787&mfr=TYS:OES&weight=0.27 Or if you're in a hurry you could call your friendly neighborhood Mercedes dealer and they could get it for you. |

If you screwed up the threads on the injector body itself, then a prechamber ain't gonna help you there either. Here's a pictor of an injector threaded into the locking collar -- http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/245...withloche1.jpg |

this is the lock ring on a 602.911 motor, notice NO internal threads for the injector. |

:D, it's all good.
I plan to go see my welder tomorrow, we are going to make a prechamber puller out of a old injector. It will go in the prechamber and I don't care if it ever comes out again, due to the buggard threads. However before I can even get that far I need to rent, borrow or buy a spline tool to get at the prechamber. I found a place online that sells the prechamber for $27 for my car but im going to call the Benz dealer in the morning and check their price. |
what a mess. Good luck.
My concern would be threading your new tool into the buggered threads. Those PC s take ALOT of force to get out. Will the threads hold? |

Update, I pulled the prechamber and replaced it with one I bought from http://www.*********.com/catalog/1989/mercedes/190d/diesel_injection/diesel_prechamber.html it's a bit more angled then what is on the car and inside looked slightly different. seems like it is working fine though, I think I have a tiny compression leak but am hoping some carbon plugs that. I also ended up buying the prechamber puller from ebay and as I thought the tool survived with no adverse effects.
Now I just need to figure out a way to lower the idle since it's 1.1k warm and wants to hang when revved in idle. I also had a stuck injector or carbon bits on the cylinder I pulled the prechamber on, for 1/2 mile I had rod knock sound from the top end of the motor but it went away as I was driving instantly. Motor is smooth and very quiet compared to the worn out injectors that I replaced. |
