1985 300sd alternater

I have discovered that my alternater is locked up. Has any one replaced the bearings in one of these before and how bad of a job is it? Thanks in advance Jack

I've never replaced the bearings but have taken one apart several times. I went through several rebuilt units and finally was able to piece two together that worked. They would be very easy to replace but the key, as always, in this scenario is getting the correct bearing to install. If you know someplace locally that will sell you precise, high quality bearings, and only two of them, or a rebuild place that will sell you the correct parts, then it might be and easy fix.
