Different way to repair wood chips

Hi,

Is it possible to scrape the old wood from my shifter console, leaving the frame part, and overlay it with new wood? Is there such a product on the market? I've looked off & on for several days for a replacement console with no luck - then I thought about the wood overlay.

Merry Christmas

Yes. Search the archives. You can buy replacements ready for install, raw wood that you can finish yourself, or just buy better condition pieces from a vehicle being parted out.

Depending on the type of wood , light pine type wood , in the past i got dents etc from the wood by using an old trick where you put a damp tea towel on the wood and then run a hot clothing iron over it , not letting it dry out and before your eyes the dings are gone.
