Knocking in my engine

Ever since I bought my car it has had a knock. I have done nothing to it do to the fact I always thought it means the engine had a big issue. Which translated in to high dollar repair.

I brought my car in to have my transmission adjusted and they noted on the sales slip Knocking motor,Transmission worn out. They did a great job adjusting my transmission but I do know in the future I will have to get it rebuilt maybe.

On to the engine knocking. Every thread I read on engine knocking, points to a rod bearing issue is this what it most likley is? Also if I were to get this repaired how much could I expect to pay?

The knocking is rythmic and consitent with a warm or cold engine. Oil pressure gauge is always pegged when driving. I didn't see and metal at all when I did my last oil change.
