Source for the blower fan motor

Where can I find just the motor for an 85' 300D? Everyone seems to have the entire unit with the fan. I put in the quote request with allpartsexpress, but that came back with $500.

The "wheel" is not difficult to R&R, there are threads in this forum showing exactly how, with pictures. I bought the motor on line for about $85 two years ago. I'm on the road for the holidays and away from my records so can't find the source to tell you -- keep searching.

I'll post the part number from NAPA, I ordered the Bosch unit a few months ago for my own 300D. Alan

OK, here is the number

0130111103 from NAPA (Altrom Import Line) Only showing one at the Indianapolis warehouse.

The cage is easy to change, there is an 8mm screw holding the motor/cage assembly in the housing. Remove it and the motor drops out. Support the cage between a couple of books, vise, 2x4's etc. GENTLY and I do mean GENTLY strike the old motor shaft with a punch, it will drop out. Wash the cage in hot water and soap, rinse well, it will be covered with crap. Press the cage on the new motor and GENTLY use a socket to set it in place.

Finally found the source for my motor-only purchase, ********AZ, for $83.20 with free shipping in July 2006. Unfortunately, they no longer list it but you might try shooting them an email.

Thanks for the info AMH. Went to NAPA today. They couldn't use that part number, but were able to look it up. 200 smackers

Can't seem to find anyone else that has it in stock.

May just pull the fan cage off and try to find a DC motor that will come close. Anyone have any idea what rpm it would turn at full speed?

I don't want to try a used motor. If my 85' with 120k miles has worn out enough to damage the commutator, what are the odds of finding one in good shape?

If you need....

Mine's from a 1991, don't know if it will fit, but I think I have a squirrel fan around here somewhere. I'll sell it to you for $40.
