ODO went out

greetings benzs,

My I have several instrument cluster problems. my clock has been out for some time(which doesnt bother me much), all the backlights have gone out and now my ODO/tach recently went out.
The speedo, engine temp, gas and outside temp(c*) all still work.

I have been researching about replacing a "little gear" that commonly goes out; any threads repairing my instrument cluster?

I have a 1984 126D

many thanks in advance,

Enrique

The W123 and the W126 are different. Try www.odometergears.com for replacement gears and instructions for the W126.

I just got a set of gears from them for my oddball '81 300TD which uses an SD style odo. Great people and the gears appear to be of good quality. You will plop down $75 bucks for 3 plastic gears, but that is the cost of living.....

The W123 has a mechanical cable driven speedo, the W126 is electronic. IIRC most speedometer shops charge 100 bucks for a repair.
