Um, no.

Back in 2006, the dealer sold me some gray and yellow line that looked just like that. It worked perfectly.

I've bought white/grey return line before from the dealer with colored striped on it before.

I've seen LOTS of other Diesel MB at meets that have the same white/grey with yellow tracer at meets too.

You figure that one out, because I never could. It takes forever for mine to evaporate dry, and each time it does, I somehow manage to soak it in diesel again.

I bought mine from this site and received the gray with gold stripe. It seems to work fine.

Factory MB return lines are yellow/beige with an orange stripe. I got some at the dealer when I replaced mine few years ago.

The black one is the aftermarket type. Works just the same, cheaper too.

If you're going to the dealer for the return lines, might as well go to them for the end line/plug.

My father-in-law had this 'cute' little clamp that he didn't know he even had that worked just perfect...fact is, I'm going to keep it in the 'kit' just in case it is needed in the future.

These lines were replaced about 2 or 2-1/2 years ago and now I notice another one is weeping pretty bad too. So I guess it's off to the dealer for another 'meter' of fuel return line. This time I may buy the short one instead of making my own plug - as I did last time!

Now I need to figure out the most effective way to remove most of the fuel that 'sprayed' up on to the hood pad...

The clamp in the 1st picture looks like a clamp for IV or Catheter tubing like they use in a hospital.

Ahh! You may be correct - appears like something of that nature...

I found a *new* use for them

The hose I use I bought at the NAPA dealer and is black. I have never had trouble with it.

for the little plug for #5 injector , I just cut out the old plug and insert into a new piece of hose.

I also remove the ones at PNP when ever I am there.

I was on a trip to Salt Lake City years ago, and had a line leaking. bought some generic hose at a auto supply.

Inside diameter was ok, but was too fat on the out side. had to slice the side down with a knife to fit onto the little barb.

mad it back to calif. and then replaced with new.

I now keep a length in a ziplock freezer bag along with a razor blade knife and some blue gloves in the trunk.

seems strange MB uses these hoses for return line, when on my 82 Datsun SD-22 Diesel engine they use a piece that fits on all 4 injectors with metal line from ea injector. then only one rubber hose to the fuel filter/return.

good to hear you made it home safely. you are SOL with the hood pad, don`t think it will clean up. just keep a supply of pads on hand so you look good at the next GTG.

Happy new year,

Charlie

Another option is to replace the factory hose with Viton hose, giving you the ability to use biodiesel. Viton is available from sources such as Fryerpower.
