Some 240D Questions

So i have just started driving my 240D as a daily driver now and this has given me a reason and the motivation to put some money into it and bring it back to as close to mint as i can get.

So some questions to start with .....

What do you guys use to clean and protect the MB Tex?

I have owned a few benzes, but not a diesel. When at operating temperature and idling what is the normal oil pressure? Mine sites around 2 .. Obviously goes all the way up when driving. I know this is normal, but just want to make sure that "2" is good.

I am going to put some Diesel additive into a full tank of diesel this weekend. Any recommendations of any that i can get at like target or O'rileys?

Also ... If anyone is in the DFW area and knows if there is a a really nice navy blue drivers side seat with a armrest at a PNP i may be looking for one. It has to be in really good shape an no fading so it matched the rest of the interior. Its weird driving without a armrest and the drivers seat has a small tear in it, whereas the rest of the interior is in perfect condition.

Thats all for now, but i am sure i will have more

Yes 2 bar is normal at full operating temp. I think i heard its ok for it to run even at 1 bar (though i would think something was seriously wrong)

As for cleaning the MB-Tex, it seems to be very durable. I just use hot soapy water a rag and a brush and scrub it when its really dirty, or just use a rag and wipe it down. Maybe other people use some other kind of cleaner or protector, but mb tex is basically flexible plastic, so nothing much you can really do in terms of conditioning it.

I use Meguires #39 to clean and protect the MB Tex.Try NAPA. Use a tooth brush to get into the texture. Mine were grundgy, and it cleaned then almost new. I use some Aerostuff 300, not the exact name, I'm blanking it. Try Ace Hardware.
Some vender makes replacement seat covers. I think $90 each. I put a set of cheep Jamb wool seat covers.

I have used both Meguire's and Aerospace 303. Meguire's smells better, but the 303 seems to leave a really nice lustre. In either case, wipe it down really good before a lady sits in the seat - they don't seem to appreciate vinyl conditioner on their clothes
:b

As for additive - my favorite is startron to kill off the black fungus in the tank. All the others seem to be very expensive fuel.

Having a manual transmission in mine ensures I don't miss the armrest at all!
