"Premium Diesel" is a sales gimmick to charge customers more money. ULSD is the same at every station, the only minor differences are in the additives.

If you can find a competent and knowledgeable station attendant that will provide you with more than a guess puked up to satisfy a difficult customer, yes. Stations all get their fuel from the same few refineries. The only significant difference, as said before, is in the additives each brand station uses.

You're talking about Meijer in the Ann Arbor area, correct? I've been using the one off of Ann Arbor/Saline Road, but occassionally find myself at the Carpenter Rd. pump.

Are they both the same?

There is a station near me that actually sells premium diesel, always 50+ cetane, they test it and it is frequently at least 55. B20 at the pump, every batch tested, always treated for cold temps, with the temp the fuel is good to printed on the pump. I go out of my way to fill there. Their commitment to quality fuels is unlike any other station I've been to.
