junkyard sunroof

does the manual sunroof lid from a 115 fit a w116?? Can I just replace my entire sunroof lid with that from a 115? Still at the junk yard so hurry anyone!! thanks

I do know the 123 and 126 are the same. the later 126 had the pop up one so don`t know about them.

The 115 and 116 I have seen, but not removed, they look like they would fit. If you remove it, will they let you return if no fit?

They all seem to be the same size, but the W115 must be manual whereas the W116 must be electric. There will be subtle differences between the two and you may have to swap parts over.

there is a DIY article by Bruce Kennedy on the manual change over from electric to manual with pictures.

I think they are all the same up to the W116 (full size of course as the smaller coupes have a smaller sunroof). I know the W123 and W116s are interchangeable as I pulled one from a W123 300TD to install on my W116 300SD. Be sure to take the metal drain tray that is attached to the underside of the roof (you have to remove the headliner to get to it). It's not a part of the sunroof, but part of the body and is attached by screws.
