wierdest thing happenned to my speedometer...

So, I've always wondered why my car suddenly seemed slower. The cars speed wasn't matching the revs, like I would be going 55 or 60 at 3K or 3100, when it should be 5 or 10 mph faster. The car ran fine, so I didn't really freak about it.

Well, a few weeks ago I was on the highway, going what I thought was 60 or 65, and the speediometer suddenly jerked up to 70+ mph, where it should be based on the tach. Something was holding back the speedometer, which was fine at less than 50, and ocntinued to move as I accelerated, just not enough. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with my engine, I know for sure now. Kind of funny. Has worked fine since then, too. I'm glad I didn't get a ticket during this time, though, because I know for a fact I hit 90 while the defect was in place! I guess that put me at a true hundy.

Mine reads five over. At all ranges. Same 5 over. Except stopped, where it reads 0. Odometer is spot on. Doesn't bother me much, but I did have to explain to my mother in law that I really wasn't speeding THAT much.
