Unhappy Noise While Turning 85 300td

Recently I've started to hear a noise come from my 85 300td. The sound ONLY occurs while turning LEFT at speed (around gradual corners at 20+ mph). The noise is not that loud (with windows up its hard to hear), its a like a rubbing noise, not high pitched at all, sounds like the tire lightly touching something. The sound is also not constant, when its occurring it ranges from 3x per second and up dependent on speed. I read some previous posts and took it out the local traffic circle and drove around in circles and tried to do some diagnostics. Here is what I can tell you there is no change in the noise when the brakes are applied. It definitely seems to be coming from the left front wheel. I was thinking wheel bearings, but wouldn't the left wheel make noise when turning right if wheel bearing were the issue. Another thing to note which may be an important piece to the puzzle. Recently the left front brake seized up for a mile or so (was smoking hot), but that problem has seemed to fix itself. I'm hoping a pad replacement (which is also due...inidicator light on) and a brake bleed will solve that issue permanently. Any ideas how this noise and the brake locking issue may be related, I was thining that maybe the hubs got so hot that I cooked my bearing grease, but again I think that I would be getting noise on right turns not left turns if my left front bearings were bad. Thanks for the help
