300sd rear window trim. W126
I have the gasket on the rear window, and I can not get the trim into the grove. I am not sure how much I dare push on the window.
I have tried soap, and windex. Still not able to get it in at all. Any ideas on where to go from here? thanks

The trim must be installed in the seal after the seal is on the window but before it is installed in the car. Is this what you are doing?

yes,
I have the window on the table, gasket is on it. I placed the cord in the gasket, and can not get the trim into the groove. I think I will take the rope out, and try that way, But I just can not even get it started.

Put the trim on first. It goes in fairly easy. Without the rope in it, you can just twist the seal back a bit and it pops right in. I used a small string to get mine in, not rope. Worked pretty good.

thanks, It went in finally, I thought.
Got it all of the way into the car, and have one area from the top left corner to the middle top of the window where the trime came out when the window went in. Is there ant way to get this in, Or do I have to pull the window back out?

Not familiar with the W126, but you may be able to apply some pressure to get it in under the seal. Maybe some lube like silicone- get the seal nice and warm. Not the right way...but you may not want to risk pulling it again. Very risky to remove one with a new seal (other than by cutting it), IMO.

Mine was popped out partially when I bought my car. I tried and couldn't get it back in. Tried when I was pulling the window out of my 380 to get the trim out while the window was still in. Couldn't get it out. If there is a way I don't know. Good luck but I think the window is going to have to come back out.

I don't know what the groove looks like on this gasket, but the gaskets for the sunroof in my 300TD were really tough to get in. I believe we ended up using silicone spray to work them in.
