It would help to know what kind of car you own.

See this thread

At the bottom is a quote from an email from Peter at GDL that may answer your question.

Sorry about that, the big ugly is 85 300sd

towboat85 03-28-2009 09:28 AM

try again

The car I'm getting parts from is an 85 300e

Look at the part numbers on them. If they're the same..... :)

Doubt it then, unless the part numbers match, which I'd doubt they will. Check a parts catalog to see if the replacement parts have the same number as well.

I have interchanged them at times to test them
on an old 300D I had.
They normally will work, but not correctly. They may
fall off 5mph or more before engaging or maintain
speed that varies up to 10 mph............

Define "work"

In 1985 the 300SD had an electric speedometer while the 300E was mechanical with an electric output for the cruise control. It would make sense for Mercedes to design them the same but it may not have been possible. It probably would not harm anything to try the 300E module in the 300SD but don't pay a lot of money just to find out it doesn't work. Check the part numbers in EPC first.

In some models the amp is the same as in the 240D and 300D models.

Use the black part that plugs into the amp from the car you want to use the amp on and if the amp is any good i believe it should work. Don
