Are you seeing something bubbling out from down there; or is there a lot of hot gass?
If the seals are similar to the 617 heat shields it is possible to get them in upside down. If you drop them into the Injector's hole they want to flip over on their way down.

compression leak
Did not notice until test run and han wetness around injectors. sprayed brake cleaner to clean and had compression blow cleaner up in air. kept looking and can see bubbles around injector base. We were very cautious when we installed the seals/ heat shields as the engine was on the stand. Yink we should pull the injector and check? Is the heat sheild the only seal?
Thanks for your response Paul |

YES,Yes...No to ReTorquing @ Operating Temps.
Only Seal...ONLY usable ONCE...The Torque to tighten everything up deforms
them. 'Classic UpSide down seal symptoms. OR the some of the old Heat Shields MAY still be in the holes. I.E. you've got Two stacked on top of each other...Very easy to do... old seals sometimes try to "Weld" themselves to the bottom of the Pre-Chamber.(And they can be a ***** to get to come out,Then.) ( I have an old narrow blade screwdriver...stick seal on in correct orientation concave side UP...hold seal with two fingers so it won't slip off...stick pointy end of SD into Pre-Chamber hole...release seal to fall down to proper resting place.) When you look at correctly installed Heat Shields,This is what you want to see: (Notice the little upturned "Lip" in the center, surrounded by a band of depressed before you get to the raised outer ring?)

Carefully remove 1 Injector that you believe is leaking the worst and check the position of the heat shield.
Please remember when you read below that it is hard to evaluate the problem with out beaing there. (There is a few threads on this.) If liquid gets down there between the Injector Threads and the Lock Ring you will see some bubbling. I do not know if this is due to the shock created by the burning Fuel during Injection, heat trying to evaporate the liquid or both. I know that after bleeding my Injectors I see some bubbling of the Fuel that got down in that area until it evaportes completely. If you have another Car with a Diesel you know is fine try dripping some Fuel in the same area you are having a problem and see if it bubbles.
