Webmaster respectfully the S.A.R.A.H. thing is for when family members die or a home burns down. Not when a website changes its name to something stupid. We are angry because as everyone has said the name has nothing to do with mercedes or mercedes parts or mercedes info.....It still sounds like a porn site.

Meh, what's in a name. It's whats on the inside that counts people, I am happy that there was some type of mediation and that MBZ did not just sue the crap out of the admin.

Yup, I agree its sad that it has an unrelated name, and yes, his connected business may lose some trade due to the name-change. But I guess he must have a very good reason to change the name AND choose an unrelated one instead. There are loads of alternatives easily checked at 'allwhois.com'

Time will tell what the effects actually are....

(Still think that www.mbshopforum.com would have been one of the better alternatives--Available too....)

The two sites that Rhodes2010 listed sound real good and take me right to the Peachparts site. we`ll see if these are only temporary as mercedesshop is to link to the peachparts site for a limited time.

The whole thing here is brand loyalty, we all ride for the brand and will shoot to kill to protect our brand. Ma- Benz came in shooting :gunsmilie: We got shot down and and whipping this :deadhorse: isn`t going to change anything. The Germans:euro: have bigger guns :tank: than our side, sooo they won.

Any company that changes the brand name will have some set back in sales for a time. one that comes to mind is when the Datsun name was changed to Nissan in this country.

So lets circle the wagons and all quiet down for a while and let the dust settle. the content and members haven`t changed, we still have the best Forum on line.

totally off the current conversation....funny little glitch due to the new name....I noticed that the Google Ads on "reply to thread" page (what I'm looking at right now as I type this reply) are all for peach trees for sale....I guess the new domain name has thrown google's super computers a curve ball...wonder how long it will take google to "learn" about the glitch and modify their advertisement?

Its different when keeping your house going depends upon the visits and purchases of the guests. :D ;)

After you click on "post reply"(bottom and top left of the page you are looking at right now)....the "reply to thread" page has "ads by Google" right below the blue bar (with "user CP" "Shopforum Gallery" etc.)....is this just on my browser..there are similar ads at the bottom of the page where you view all the responses to a thread (the page you are reading right now), but these ads are usually mercedes/car-related..EDIT: I spoke to soon, these ads are now gardening related too...

When ever I would spot another benz head getting parts from a car in the junk yard I would tell them about mercedesshop.com ... now they are just going to look at me weird when I say peachparts.com
