replacing fuel tank strainer hose

I finally got to it and pulled the fuel tank on my 81 to replace all the hoses with BD proof stuff.
The hose that drains the tank via the fuel strainer is a swaged fitting.
Has anyone replaced this hose?
The fitting is threaded into the strainer hex end.
Do I need a new nipple to attach a hose to or do I cut off the hose from the fitting and somehow fit a new BD proof one on to the end?

Cut the cuff off and you'll find a normal barbed hose you can use normal hose and a clamp on.
