Thanks for the compliment. It is few and far between here.

I actually do it in a much simple way. Mine is a 300SDL and the plug that goes into the trunk lock has 3 wires. 12v, 0 and a common. I cannot remember the color code but I can post again if I find out later.

1) I tap the 12v from the 12v plug wire.
2) Cut the common and connect the 2 ends to the keyless unit.
3) wire up the parking light to door trigger(+) or (-).
4) done
5) Tug everything in the trunk lock's void space.

I do not bother with the starter cutoff relay nor the shock sensor. I could wire up the parking lights but I hesitate to do it as I do not know how much current I can drain from the connector plug. One can run the parking light wire to a relay and have a separate 12V from the trunk lid light ( more current available for all the parking lights ), use the relay to control the parking lights. Do not do it as it is too much hassle for me.

I actually bought an item like this from this vendor
http://cgi.ebay.com/Momentary-RF-2-Remote-1-Receiver-for-Access-Control_W0QQitemZ260339815096QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3c9d7652b8&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A30

This one is "latch" you want "momentary".
Also, the unit was delivered and had only one channel active (only unlock worked, I think) I complained, got the item for free... them mod'd the unit to find the lock trace on the circuit board and added a lock channel transistor. The fobs lock/unlock come working for both.

So, unless you're up to that.. find a unit similar to this.. Tons from China. This one just had really nice fobs. Also, lots of these are interchangeable fobs because they all use similar chip sets. So you might be able to buy this one for its fobs, then get a different unit that has momentary 2-channel receiver.

Play around.

I wired up my remote entry last night and tried it this morning. The "lock" and "unlock" pulses are not long enough. I need to lengthen them by a couple of seconds.

Basically, I have a remote keyless entry/alarm module from a Ford pickup. I've removed the factory alarm module at the passenger firewall and I'll be installing the new module there. All the signals I need are available at this point. I can tap into power/ground, door lock/unlock, trunk, hood, dome light, anti-tow, horn, etc.

Here is what I've done so far. I'll shorten up the wires for the final install.
