a little search help for a window issue

I know I saw a thread around here that detailed how to correct a slow moving window. I have an SDL with a cranky passenger rear window that needs to be cleaned (I think). If I don't clean it, I think the regulator goes out?

Any way, could some one point me to the thread that details how to handle this situation (if one exists)?

I did look through the DIY section but it was not there (at least that I could see).
