euro headlights question

I have a 93 300D and I am visiting family in Egypt and can get Hella euro headlights but not sure whats a good price for them

they want close to $350 a pair but I may be able to talk them down a bit not sure if its glass or plastic

need input on what should I expect to pay and also would any w124 work ? is there a way to tell the 94+ from the 93 and below ? I know they are a little diff

anyone need anything from here ?

$350 sound like a lot, especially in Egypt. See if you can get one of your Egyptian relatives to do the bargaining for you. The locals may perceive you as a rich American.

I got a pair of Bosch euros off Ebay from Germany a few years ago for a little over $200. They were used but in good shape. The lenses are glass, btw.

I hope they didn't come off a RHD car.

As far as US spec cars, 300Es through 93 have a distinct grill and straight cut headlight inner edges. 94-95 E320s have the hood border the grill down to the bumper. The headlights are chamfered to accommodate the hood extensions. You can use newer headlights in place of older if you don't mind the exposed chamfer. I don't think the newer hood will close over older headlights.

Genuine Hellas would have glass lenses.

If you have the chance, Euro 500E headlights are the ones to get.

I can tell the difference between the newer and older I see the cut on the inside they all come off lhd half cuts ( they have them on the half cuts till they sell them

Euro 500E is rare here they mostly have 200E they don't even have diesel here and was shocked to hear that mine is a 93 300D all together

Thanks for the advice all
