96 E300 will not start
Hi,
have a 96 E300D and it will not start. I drove it to a auto body shop 2 months ago and they have been working on it slowly. I went to pick the car up and the battery was dead. There was also little fuel in the tank. I put in a new battery and put in some diesel, and it will not start. I scanned the codes, and i got 6 of the same codes. I got P0200 saying injector ckt open. Now i do not know what electrical parts to check. The k-40 relay is brand(installed it a month before auto body shop). It also might have sucked in air into the system. Any ideas?? |

Check the fuel filter and see if it's full of fuel. If not, you can pour some in and it will help it get primed if for some reason it was run out of fuel.

They are self priming, however I would replace all of the clear fuel lines. Especially with an empty tank the pump has to "pull" extra hard. It wouldnt hurt to fill the filter and give it a shot, but this is classic symptom of needing fuel lines

With both the front window and hood open, turn key to pos 2 and listen for the SOV (black valve on side of the IP) click open. No click, no start.
