617 intake/exhaust gasket replacement...question about oil line

My '81 300TD (OM617) has a leak at the intake and exhaust gasket (I believe because it has a nasty whistle under load and lots of exhaust noise too) and so I was planning on pulling the manifold/turbo assembly out and renewing all of the gaskets between the head and the exhaust pipe at once.

I read the manual but it is unclear to me whether the oil feed line to the turbo needs to be removed, or loosened at the oil filter housing. One set of instructions seems to say "disconnect the line at the turbo and loosen the line at the O/F housing and clamps" and one set doesn't address that but simply says to disconnect the line at the turbo. Can the turbo/manifold come out without disturbing the oil feed line's connection at the bottom of the oil filter housing or not?
