Hi all,

My driver's side door lock cylinder has not worked since I bought the car in 2006. Lifting the knob and pushing it down did work, and my central locking system was fine. I would just use the trunk or the passenger side lock.

I finally got around to ordering a $330 door handle and followed "300sd2000"'s directions on how to remove a door handle without being able to turn the key...

So here is my problem.. I may have somehow damaged my door lock assembly, the actual internals that the handle attaches to.

I am no longer able to get the mechanism to move down far enough for the interior-door plunger to recess fully, nor for it to actually cause the vacuum actuator to close.

Any suggestions? This part costs $475! It doesnt look like I bent anything...

The rocker inside the cavity that goes around the door check was not in the proper position for the vacuum activator arm to move 100%.. Basically, you can't lock the door unless its shut...
