Removing plastic back cover off W124 seat

Hi folks,

Here's an odd one for ya: has anyone removed the plastic seat back off a W124? I'm talking about the molded, shaped cover with the elastic netting on it. The reason why I want to pull it off is that I have this crazy annoying, rapid squeaking sound coming from the base of the headrest shafts. I know something is loose at the base, so I'd like to access it and see if something needs to be tightened down.

There are two screws at the bottom of the cover which i removed. I tried to pull it downwards, but its not going anywhere.

Anyone successfully done this?
