722.117 pressure test port location?

I am a new 82 240d owner trying to get things set up correctly. Running rough when I got it with about 9k on a rebuilt motor. Adjusted valves-big improvement. Adjusted timing to find it timed 24* if read on the wrong side of the reading tab so pulled pump and skipped a tooth and adjusted dead on and huge improvement. Now it is time for the tranny. I am waiting on new control levers for the 2/3 before I set it up but thought I could check the pressure and adjust the modulator to start. It seems like it is really trying to bog the engine down at idle and requires alot of pressure on the brakes when in gear (at idle) and it sounds like the right place to start. I have read the very informative diy's and searched for a clarification of my question but haven't found it. I have a 722117 and the modulator is on the pass side (as opposed to the diy article) and there are two 12mm bolts that could be the test port bolts to my best estimation. One is above and behind the modulator on an angled flat surface and the other is below and on the bottom of the case. Niether of these locations matches the discription in the article. Does anyone know which is it? I should also note (with fear and trembling) that there is an Aamco sticker on the bumper, cards in the glovebox and it was suposedly "rebuilt" by Aamco. More info: shifts right at the shift points on the speedo with vac line disconnected but 5-8 mph before when connected. Vac goes from 10 to 0 at full throttle. Mytivac on modulator goes slowly down.
