Adding a fuse to the AC circuit, Factory Mod; 1982 300SD

My car never had this mod done but I read about it before . What the mod is is adding a fuse outside the fuse box and splitting the factory C circuit. As I remember it a new fuse holder that sits on the fender well.

The purpose is to have less current run through the Blue fuse in the fuse box and let it (blue fuse) run cooler. I've always wanted to do this but never have. Ive never used the ceramic fuses either, so maybe this is all I need to do. I'm not sure. I oiled my fan and brushes look good. They are like 1/2" long and seated well)

Who all has done this Mod I'm curious. (not the ceramic fuse but splitting the circuit to reduce the current through the Blue fuse for the AC that is in the fuse box)

Thanks
