I guess the trade off for the weather is that I do not have to switch to a winter rustbucket beater.

Or have your only cars be hammered by the salt. Its a constant losing battle keeping the poor cars from rusting away.

Yeah, well Dallas began using a 50% salt 50% sand mix. I live out in the sticks, so there is nothing added to roads. I feel sorry for the salted cars. One would think that they would stop using salt because of the damage. Minnesota bridge collapse anyone?

I remember seeing an old Caddillac that was so rusty, that the left front fender let go and peeled off while running down I-30 near Rockwall, Tx.

I never even thought of that....no wonder all our steel bridges are so rusty so fast....its from all the salt water drooling down and all over them! They've learned their lesson though, and all new bridges are being built out of only concrete.

I wonder if anyone pursued a class action against the cities that use salt, and thier cars rot away...Just how effective is the under body flush anyway?

UPDATE

I replaced the links yesterday---the temp was cooler....

The old ones did not break, but the ball joints were very loose, and the rubber boot was missing.

All I can say is YAY!!! No more "Boom in the trunk" and looking for what sounded like loose item bouncing around.

The job was very easy.
