Not shifting after Veggie Oil convert attempt

Hey everyone , i cdould use some help because i've pulled out pretty much all my hair at this point.

I purchased a 1982 240D Auto Transmission recently to convert to run veggie oil. The car was in great condition but now that i have modified the fuel and coolant lines it seems to be stuck in first gear . I know it had to be something that i did but cant figure it out.

Does this have something to do with the vacuum?

Or did i splice into the transmission fluid line ? I spliced into the hose that comes off where the big coolant radiator hoses connect

hellllpppppp

Probably kickdown switch (usually under gas pedal).

Vacuum does not affect what gears are shifted, just how hard.

The transmission cooler lines wouldn't affect shifting either, they are the two little ones on the bottom of the radiator. You don't want to splice into them though.

You've probably disconnected something. Look all around the engine bay for something that cam undone. You could have pulled the bowden cable off. It's on top of the valve cover, connected to the linkages and goes down the the transmission on the passenger side.

I also think that you must have loosened in the vacuum circuitry that now causes you tranny not to work. But besides this if you say

That means that you have inserted a heat exchanger in the secondary ciruit (in which the radiator is). This wrong....the heat exchanger should be fitted into the primary circuit, so where the coolant line comes out of the block towards the heating coil at one side, and at the other side where it comes from the heating coil at the water pump. So basically in parallel with the heating of the interior.
Having mounted it in the way I think you did, will prevent any heating of the SVO prior to the moment that the thermostat will open at 80-85 degrees.

Cheers,
Ingmar
