4 Speed Conversion Kit - Should I buy?
Does this look like a good 4 speed conversion kit? I've done quite a bit of reading on the forum about doing a swap and from my knowledge I want to buy (ideally it would have a 300td manual flywheel...) I would be swapping it into my 1983 300td.
Here's the add and photos- Mercedes 300D 4 Speed Conversion - $425 I have all the parts needed to convert any diesel W123 chassis...240d 300d 300cd 300td.. to a 4 speed Both shafts and both cross members to do either a 240 or 300 The only thing you need to do is if installing in a 300D is shorten the shifter linkage by about 4 inches. The flywheel is from a 240 so it is about 10 pounds lighter. I have used a set up like this in another 300 and with the lighter flywheel it is a little faster to rev. Included: 240d flywheel clutch plate clutch cover throw out / release bearing 4 spd trans 240d the 240 was under 150k and wrecked- trans shifts through all gears and turns smoothly. Shifter 300d trans crossmember for manual trans 300d front section drive shaft for manual trans 240d trans crossmember for manual trans 240d front section drive shaft for manual trans 240d shift linkage Pedal assembly with clutch master clutch hose nuts and bolts |
