Do w126 springs fit on w123?
If 560sel springs are the same overall diamter, and have maybe a beefier coil diameter than the w123, I'm thinking of yanking a set and cutting them to my desired ride height as a cheap way of making lowering springs for my '82 300dt .
Any thoughts on this prospect? |

It seems like they would be much stiffer. Isn't the 126 a lot heavier than a 123?

yup, i'm guessing by at least a thousand pounds on the 560sel. since mb springs were color coded/striped based on the options and weight of the car they were made for, i'm thinking the net effect of 560sel springs would be the same as lowering springs if i cut them down to desired height. same deal as putting, say, 400e or 500e springs on a 190e.
