i am considering a 240 d ,an 80's 123 if i can find it.i see they have different automatic transmissions than a 5cyl.are the 240 d any weaker than the 5cyl trans?

IMO, the 722.1xx torque converter has a tendency to lose its driving tangs in the front pump. Also has an adjustable reverse band that likes to back out.

So where is my transmission in this list?

EPC gives you access to every part on any Benz for many years back. You can either put in the VIN of your car or pick from a list of model numbers (for example, 123.123 is my 1985 300D-T). Jeremy

Agreed. One of the reasons that the local dealer's parts guy and I get along so well is that when I come in to buy parts, I have with me my VIN, a picture from EPC, and the part numbers I want to order. It makes their job easier and they respond by helping me if they can.
