VCV datapoint
My driveway refurbished VCV quit again. I can now tell the symptoms of impending doom. Aside from shifts getting firmer, and who needs more indication than that, the downshift to second when coasting to a stop is pronounced and there's a particularly heavy 1-2 clunk when letting off the pedal after a first gear crawl.
Anyway, I located a NOS 123 300 10 33 VCV. The current part number is 140 300 08 33. For reference the NOS unit takes 25-30 seconds to bleed 5" Hg in the idle position, 2-3 seconds in the WOT position. The bad VCV in the car doesn't hold vacuum and at idle only 7" Hg makes it to the VCV outlet port.
