Turbo retrofit question.

I know this has been discussed before in this thread, but here goes.

I have a 1978 NA OM617 and a KKK turbo off of an 83 300SD, as well as the manifolds and oil lines for the same.

I understand there are differences between the engines, such as the oil jets under the pistons, higher cracking pressure injectors, ALDA, and the sodium filled exhaust valves.

My question is simply, if I did the turbo install on the motor as it sits, and monitored EGT and boost religiously, what boost level could I safely run?

I know that the stock .9 bar will probably be too much, but the "1-3psi" max quoted in the afore mentioned thread seems ridiculously low.

I'm also installing a higher capacity oil cooler as part of my project.

All comments/criticisim welcome.
