are there floor drains for the 124? car got flooded.
it flooded pretty bad at work yesterday and all the footwells are filled with water. floor mats and carpet underneath are soaked and like a loaded sponge. i know there is a ton of water under the carpet.
I don't see any drains for the floor pans areas like are in the spare tire and tool compartments on my wagon. does the passanger compartment have any water drains or removable plugs? I'd hate to drill the floor. a shop vac is only gonna get so much out. the rest will stay there and rust and mildue the car. i did some searches but it sounds like the floor pan itself has no drain. the water did not come in the top but up the bottom as the water rose in the parking lot.

poke around and you will find rubber drain plugs in the form of capped grommets on the floorboards in the rear foot rest area, and under the rear seats.
you might also want to consider putting a heater in the car overnight, with one door or just the sunroof open, to evaporate the water |

Yep,you're gonna wanna get all the carpet out ...Quick!
The original "Insulation" on the floorboards may certainly be asbestos based. great time to scrape it off and replace with something like dynamat. 'Just be sure to wear a mask! The longer ANY water remains in all the nooks and crannies ,the more risk of RUST!
