I have a spare OM603 engine and I was thinking about doing a swap a few questions

-Do I need a 300SDL transmission or will my 300SD tranny fit into the om617
-engine mounting the same or diffrent????
-will it fit??? It looks like the engine compartment is the same size.

My om617 engine will go into the 1974 240D with the 4spd
and the om616 will undergo rebuilding and will be stored for future projects.
