T-Stat housing is leaking
The car is a '78 240D with the top mounted thermostat housing with the bleeder bolt on top. A little bit of coolant gets sprayed on the valve cover and hood pad when I take the car out for a 15 minute or longer drive. It's nothing serious, but it's going to make a mess after a few more weeks.
I don't want to torque those bolts too much. Is there a sealant I can use or maybe put another o-ring on top of the one that's already there? Thanks

The bleeder bolt screws into aluminium, so you don`t want to over tighten it.
I have seen these bleeder bolts, think it is just an aluminium crush washer under it. try replacing it. Two might give you a problem. Charlie
