yeah, the rings are pretty cool. going to get a set for myself. this particular cruster is off my friend's car--he's japanese, and he's pretty much blinged out every possible nook and cranny of his car. even chrome rear view mirror

Is that OE spec for a 280, or are the rings and trim aftermarket?

it's all aftermarket gotten from either ebay.de or ebay.co.uk

the trim rings ended up not fitting and needed to be cut to fit.

Trim rings

Sev, that's beautiful! I've been trying to figure out how to do the same thing for my car. Can you post a link to the source for those rings, and maybe a description of what you did, maybe with pictures?? Great job! Glassmandave

guys, this is not my instrument cruster--it's a friend of mine's from Japan. he got the trim rings off ebay germany and ebay UK

if you go to ebay germany and type in "(w123,123) mercedes tacho*" , you will find results which include the trim rings

haha, well, kinda. i've already ordered a set of tachorings for both my 190's, as well as a zebrano background wood trim for my w123, and a carbon fiber one for my sportline limited 190e. have yet to install them though. going to do my rheostat, instrument cluster led lights, zebrano background, and chrome rings on the w123 all at the same time--just haven't gotten around to it yet

Lateral thickness of the rings are thin but it has 2mm. When installed, needles lock out the laterals....I see. And also installed with Deutschen silly chromed rings in it.(conbination instalation)

By the way, why do you know Japanese words so well??!!....banzai etc..
I will send pics after instration of other stuffs.
