83 300 SD does the exterior door handles interchange L to R?

anyone know if you can switch around the door handles on an 83 300SD? my driver side exterior handle is broken and cant afford a new handle right now and would like to be able to lock it.

Ive done it before on my sdl. just locking and opening get switched.
