Turbo Pressures on a 606 w210
Hello,
I want to know if my turbo is working properly. I'll be hooking up a pressure gauge soon to map it out. Does anyone know what the pressure should be at for a given rpm? I couldn't find a post with any good reference info. Who's good at rebuilding factory turbos? Thanks, Jay

What are your symptoms? No or little boost can also mean wastegate issues.

I know mine tops out at 32 psi absolute. The ECU is always adjusting the pressure so it's not a predictable curve like a mechanical wastegate.

I added a water/meth kit and is set to turn on at 1 psi boost pressure. There is probably some error in the water/meth kit switch but I have to be up above 2200 rpm with my foot in the pedal a bit for it to go on. I'll be adding the boost guage soon so I just wanted some reference data for once it's in. If I'm on the highway at 2500 or 3000 rpm shouldn't I be getting some boost?
How do I check to see the waste gate is working properly? I have't messed with one before. Is there a way to clean it if it's stuck open? Thanks, Jay

The computer adjusts boost all the time. If I remember correctly, the wastegate is fully closed at idle and full throttle.
When the throttle is lifted, the gate opens and when the vehicle reaches a steady speed, the gate opens so you may not see boost at highway speed and for a second when the throttle is pressed.
