GP troubleshooting help
This is on the 240D.
I am having intermittent glow plug problems and could use some diagnostic help.... As best I can tell, the first glow of the day is normal. No starting problems and only a bit of smoke from one cylinder - I suspect a bad injector and have rebuilts on order. After driving around and letting the car sit, sometimes hours, when I turn the key to the glow position, the indicator light flashes. If I try to start it, it will start with some difficulty, depending on engine and ambient temp. If I turn the key off and on 2-3 times, it always eventually goes into a normal glow cycle, and starts right up....maybe a little hesitant. I found a loose ignition plug connection at the LH fender relay, but that didn't fix it. All 4 plugs+wires (resistance at each pin on larger connecting plug at relay) was exact same = 0.8 ohms. Voltage on either side of the 80A fuse strip was 12.75. What should I do next?

Pay attention to how long it takes the relay to click off after placing the key in the run position.
