Answer

If the threads, cord or mast shaft is damaged = replace it.

Antenna mast
MB# B6 6 82 8037

We have it in stock.
http://www.allpartsexpress.com/

If there is no damage:
* Turn the key on.
* Feed the cord into the power unit.
* Have an assistant turn the radio on then off.
* The mast should draw down.
* Screw the mounting nut back in snug.

Test the antenna extension/retract twice = radio on/off.

where's the seal? There are two parts that affect a seal around the gap between the outer portion of the mast housing, did you lose that? better find that or the antenna is going to wobble around rain will get in. DDH
(edit) ha, messages passed in the wires huh? if the Boot is the seal then yes, you need to put that on, it fits into the lower boot that goes in before the antenna is mounted.

you also feed the leader in with the teeth facing the take-up wheel. And take care not to get a finger pinched in the process! this takes timing and you might have to make several tries. Its a two person job but I have done it myself by unplugging the plug while its all the way wound "up" (even though no antenna is in the unit, it thinks its "up") then go and press the switch to the lower position, put the leader into the opening teeth facing the take up wheel then plug the plug back onto the antenna unit at which time it starts winding down, got it? verrry tricky!

Does not look like you need a new mask. You need a new antenna boot though. I think the reason it comes out is that the screw cap on part of the mask had come loose. The yellow metal part on the mask. The motor pushes the whole thing out.

It is not easy to thread it back in as the plastic part is now round-ish and not straight. if you really want to put in back in then you need to straighten up the last part of the pastic thread and insert it back in. Tighten the yellow cap and you are done. Or you can open the antenna casing and thread it back in by hand, move the black rubber band by hand.

Good luck.

I did the one on my BMW by opening up the unit and simply winding the plastic cord around the spool. I put the antenna mast on the unit, pushed it closed then just turned the spool by hand taking up the cord. Once I put it all bacl together it worked fine. If you cannot do it the easy way (which I had never thought of) try it my way...
