81 300d A/T Cooler Hose replacement
Howdy,
In the process of replacing a leaky A/T cooler hose. I replaced the wrong one last week and it was a snap. This one will not come off. No matter how much pressure I put into it. There are two nuts where it disconnects and the smaller of the nuts has been stripped or bent or something. Anyway, got two questions about this. Any tips for getting this stubborn one off? 2nd question is just beyond the cooler hose the line turns metal and runs along the oil pan thought a clamp or something. There was some type of rubber part there that stopped the line from bouncing around a lot when the engine is running. That rubber part was dust when I touched it. Anyone know the replacement part number for that or a easy fix. Thanks! 81 300D |

You could fabricate a cushion out of some hose, like fuel line.

Thanks TangoFox! I am pretty new to all this and would have never thought of that. Great idea!

Success! Took me a few hours up on ramps, but I got that bugger off. Two new, nice, non-leaking hoses. The one on the drives side I run under the AC house, before it was run above it, but bent the hose a lot more than under it. Anyone see an issue with that?
Thanks again for the feedback on using the fuel hose. Worked perfect! |
