I can't remember seeing it, but is the gear shifter gate suppose to have a light to see the gear selection at night on a 95 E300D? I went out tonight to pull her into the garage and I noticed the shift gate was dark (headlights were on). Is there a light bulb out there? If there is, is it an easy DIY?

Yes, it is lighted. If all the other console switches light up, then the bulb is burned out. You'll need to remove the wooden cover over the window switches and shift gate. The lamp should be at the left front of the shift gate.
