I pulled my driveshaft from my 1984 300sd apart to replace the center rubber booth near the u-joint and didn't mark it

On the W210 and W124 chassis, and I suspect yours also, the shaft is factory marked with lightly raised metal ribs...2 one one piece, 1 on the other. orient the 1 between the 2 and you're done. Pictures are in the service manuals.

It is a1984 300sd 126 chassis

there should be some factory markings
They are kinda hard to see but if you know what you are looking far they are obvious. There was a picture around here somewhere showing what the factory marks look like.

I just had a drive shaft balanced for a W123. Set me back 40$. No rubber bits other than the center bearing (which was being replaced) were present.
