Just took my pump off to replace the bottom seal,it sat around for a few days with the bottom off so pretty much all the oil has dripped out.Do you think i should put oil in it before i put it back on the engine? I know it gets oil pumped into it when the engine runs but is there likely to be any harm done before the oil gets up to its correct level in there? If you decide to do this to your pump dont waste your money getting the gasket set from Bosch! it has a bottom seal and delivery valve o rings and i think the copper washers,the side cover gasket included is not good at all and there is little else in there that you need.The o ring for the stop lever shaft is not included nor is the seal for the rack control shaft, the gasket between the pump and governor housing is not there or the back cover on the gov housing.No o ring for the front of the pump to the engine block either. Anybody off hand know the torque on the left hand bolt that holds the advancer on ???
