87 300SDL transmission slips off rolling stop

My 300SDL transmission slips off a rolling stop. If I make a solid stop for 1-2 seconds and then take off, no slipping occurs. The other sympton which seems related is when manually downshifting, the transmission won't down shift unless I accelerate. It almost seems as if when decellerating, the transmission is not engaged. Problem started in the last 2000 miles or so.

Otherwise, transmission works fine. No flaring between gears, shifts are smooth etc. Fluid level is correct; 10k miles on fluid, 96k miles on the car. Vacumm to transmission seems fine.

I will change the fluid/filter; are there any other things I can fix/adjust?
